1) What are the differences between the FED Charger and the Turtle Charger?
The Turtle Charger is the new improved version of the FED Charger. The Turtle Charger has got the newest patented technique and therefore is a little bit bigger.
2) How does the Turtle Charger work?
The Turtle Charger works simple: It translates the power of the 4 most common chargers to the power you need! Due to its intelligent internal circuitry, the Turtle Charger "feels" the needed power for the attached device.
3) What can I charge with the Turtle Charger?
The Turtle Charger powers most common electrical gear: iPod, cell phones, PSP, Gameboy, most digital cameras, etc. Check the Product Finder to see if we have a connector for your device. Your device isn’t on the list? Email us at info@fedcharger.com, and we'll see what we can do!
4) How long does it take Turtle Charger to charge my mobile phone or Ipod?
This depends on your phone or device, but you can expect that the FED Charger will charge at about the same rate as your device’s standard supply.
5) What power output can I expect from The Turtle Charger?
With FED’s intelligent internal circuitry it can deliver power at variable rates depending on the device being charged. Most devices works in the region of 5.5 Watts.
6) Can I charge a portable computer with my Turtle Charger?
No. Laptop computers are very power hungry, but future products are in development to address this. You can use your laptop to charge your devices, using the special USB-miniUSB connector.
7) My device doesn’t indicate a power source, when attached to the Turtle Charger. What is wrong?
The Turtle Charger needs power to translate. Insert one of the four most common chargers into the Turtle Charger to power up your device.
The output for the connectors is the same size as the input for the Nokia charger. Maybe you have mistaken the input for the output! Make sure you insert the connector in the right place, indicated with an arrow at the back of the Turtle Charger.
When the battery of your device is completely flat, some devices need extra juice to get the battery started. Some flat batteries need so much energy, the Turtle Charger isn’t capable to get the needed power. So what to do? Just plug your original charger in the device, so the battery gets its first power. After that, the Turtle Charger can be used.
8) Do the connectors break easily?
With normal use, they don’t break easily. But they’re not bullet proof!
9) Where can I buy additional connectors for my PDA or Phone?
Please visit our webshop for the list of compatible connectors. These connectors are available online from www.fedcharger.com or from our retail partners.
10) Can my Turtle Charger be left outdoors without a protective covering?
The FED Charger cannot be left outdoors without a protective covering.
11) Is the Turtle Charger made of environmental products?
The FED Charger is, where possible, made of environmental products. We’re working on the rest! Our FED Foundation contributes to nature projects.
12) Where does the name Turtle Charger come from?
The name Turtle Charger comes from the design of the charger. It resembles a turtle! A share of the profit of the Turtle Charger will be spend on behalf of the endangered Turtles!
13) Can I get a Turtle Charger in different colours?
The Turtle Charger is available in black and white. We’re planning to produce the Turtle Charger in other colours. You can make a difference! Click on this POLL to vote on your favourite Turtle Charger colour! The colour with the most votes will be produced!
14) Where can I buy the Turtle Charger?
Currently the Turtle Charger is available in Germany, Holland, Belgium, Luxemburg and via www.fedcharger.com. We will be rolling out to other European markets in the coming months.
About The FED Foundation
1) How does The FED Foundation work?
Of every FED-purchase, a part of the profit will be donated to the FED Foundation. The FED Foundation will allocate the money to various nature preservation projects.
2) Which projects does The FED Foundation support?
All FED products will be named to preserved animals. The profit of these products will be donated to projects preserving these endangered animals. With the Turtle Charger for instance, the money will be donated to preserve the eggs of the turtles!
3) Who controls The FED Foundation?
Outsiders of FED Creations control the FED Foundation. This ensures independency and a clear view!
